Privacy Policy
Locus is designed with privacy as a core principle. In short: we don't ask for an account, your Screen Time data never leaves your device, and the little we do process is anonymous or short-lived. Below is exactly what that means.
At a glance
- No account, no sign-up. You don't enter an email, phone number or any identifying information to use Locus.
- Your focus data stays on your device. Focus modes, schedules, session history and your home key live only in the app's local storage.
- No tracking across apps. We don't use the advertising identifier (IDFA) or ask for tracking permission, and we never sell data.
- Anonymous analytics you can turn off. We measure how the app is used, without your identity, to improve it. You can switch this off in Settings.
Data we collect
Everything the app needs to work — focus modes, durations, schedules, session records and your home key — is kept only on your device. For the home key, Locus stores only a one-way fingerprint (hash) of the barcode you scan, never the barcode itself or any image; the camera is used only while you scan.
App analytics (Google Firebase Analytics). Anonymous usage events (for example: a session started or finished, a screen or paywall was viewed) together with a random app-instance identifier, device model, OS version, app version and approximate country. No name, email, contacts or app names are included. You can turn this off at any time in Settings ▸ Share anonymous usage data.
Purchases (RevenueCat and Apple). Payments are handled by Apple. To unlock Pro, the app shares your purchase status with RevenueCat under a random anonymous ID. If you installed Locus from an Apple Search Ads ad, an anonymous attribution token from Apple may be used to measure that campaign. We never see your payment details.
Trusted key (Emanet). If you use it, the names you type for yourself and your trusted person, the time left in your session and your language are sent to our server (locus.build4pp.com, hosted on Cloudflare) to create the approval link. These requests are deleted automatically within a few hours and are not used for anything else.
Screen Time data
Locus uses Apple's Screen Time framework (Family Controls, Managed Settings, Device Activity) to block apps. Here is what you should know:
- When you pick the apps you want to block, Apple gives us only opaque (anonymous) tokens. Locus cannot see the names or identifiers of the apps you selected — it only knows how many you chose.
- Your app usage time (how long you spend in which app) is processed only inside an area Apple isolates, never leaves that area, and never reaches us in any form.
- This data is protected by Apple and subject to Apple's privacy policy.
Sharing with third parties
We don't sell or rent any data. We use only the service providers listed above (Google Firebase, RevenueCat, Apple, Cloudflare), each solely to provide its part of the app.
Children's privacy
Locus does not knowingly collect personal information from children. Analytics are anonymous and can be turned off, and trusted-key requests are deleted within hours.
Your rights
Your focus data lives only on your device. When you delete the app, everything Locus saved locally is removed. You can turn off analytics in Settings, and you can reach us at bahadirsofuoglu@gmail.com for any request about data processed by our service providers.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. For significant changes we refresh the “last updated” date on this page.
